About
Why we built Orthogonal.
Today’s agents can reason, but they can’t act until someone connects every API, key, contract, and bill by hand. Orthogonal removes that work: one integration to discover, call, and pay for the tools your agent needs.

The short version.
Christian and Bera met at McGill and have built together ever since. After years working on payment systems and developer infrastructure, they kept seeing the same problem: an agent could decide what to do but could not do it, because using a new service required another integration, another key, another contract, and another bill, each set up by a person.
So they built the missing layer. Orthogonal connects dozens of verified providers (company data, the live web, email, and more) through one API an agent can discover, call, and pay for on its own. Providers list once and get paid each time an agent calls them, with no dashboards to manage and no keys to rotate.
We believe the agent economy needs infrastructure before it needs more intelligence, and we’re building it. Backed by Y Combinator (W26), based in San Francisco.

What we believe.
Access should be instant.
No sales calls, no contracts, no waiting. An agent can discover a tool and call it in the same session.
Pay for what you use.
Every call is metered. No subscriptions, no minimums. Your agent pays only for the calls it makes.
Vetted and monitored.
Every provider is tested before it goes live and monitored over time. Pooled, managed credentials and one auditable bill replace dozens of raw keys.
